I am a fully qualified ITEC Massage Therapist and hold diplomas in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Holistic/Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Indian Head Massage. I also hold a post graduate in Manipulative Therapy.
Based in Great Dunmow, near Chelmsford in Essex, I am also a fully qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor and still undertake work in these fields to complement the massage and manipulation I offer.
I've been heavily involved in sport for all of my adult life and was very active in sport at school. I've enjoyed training and competing in a diverse range of sports, including martial arts, distance running, swimming, netball, hockey, football, rounders and high jump.
After a number of unsatisfying jobs it seemed a the natural choice to pursue a career in fitness and health. Whilst still doing this, my fascination with anatomy and physiology led me to take up a short course in aromatherapy. From that point on I was hooked, and continued to satisfy my quest to help sports people with injuries, as well as non sporting people with muscular or spinal and hip problems.
So a natural progression was to qualify in sports and deep tissue massage, which I did a couple of years later, after having already completed the stepping stone of a holistic massage course. I am a full member of the Complementary Therapist Association, know as the CThA. I have continued my professional development by recently completing kinesio taping and advanced manipulation therapy courses in 2012.
